Seminar on Virtual Towers
Last week, LFV and Saab held a seminar in Dubai on the subject of development and the possibility of virtual air traffic control towers. The purpose of the seminar was to provide ANS providers, regulators and airlines in the Middle East a picture of the opportunities around virtual ATM-solutions, not least for Dubai ANS which is about to set up a virtual solution as a replacement when the current tower is going to be renovated. Saab talked about technological developments and Mikael Henriksson from LFV talked about the journey LFV made to obtain the operational approval for RTS in Örnsköldsvik. The Swedish Transport Agency was also there, sharing their experiences of giving the operational approval. The seminar was well attended and there were many questions. The interest of virtual ATM-solutions, which already is high in this part of the world, was after the seminar was probably even higher. For more information click here.
