The Future of Aviation and
Infrastructure
Wednesday 13 September 2023 | Sweco, Stockholm
The member companies of Swedish Aviation Group (SAG) have the ambition to cover the complete aviation industry with state-of-the-art solutions and services.
The main focuses for SAG today are to cover Airline and Helicopter operations, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) as well as Airport Development and Operation. With this said, we are of course, open to all companies who engage in the aviation business and are more than willing to open up for new focus areas.
Within Airline and Helicopter Operations you will find companies covering aircraft, helicopter and engine maintenance and overhaul. Other areas are Air Traffic Management, consultancy and training.
Within Airport development and operation, you will find companies engaged in services, consultancy as well as operations (Air Navigation and Airport) and in technical solutions/products.
The aim is, for both groups to identify business opportunities and to cooperate in attracting customers. Ultimately, to secure new contracts to a company or in partnership between several companies. The activities within each group can differ depending on current situation on the respective market as well as within the group.
Each of the two groups will form their agenda with activities as well as sharing activities between themselves.
As the aviation business is facing challenges, today and in the future, SAG is offering an important knowledge sharing platform when it comes to new procedures, techniques and sustainable solutions.

Aviation in Sweden has been a significant industry since the 1930’s when several aircraft manufacturers existed and facilities were developed to cope with political demand.
Today, the Swedish aviation industry has a global reputation for innovation at the highest levels across many aviation sectors offering the national and international marketplace considerable opportunities for collaboration.
Sweden had its first decline in aircraft movements since 2012 in 2019, recording over 774,000 aircraft movements. With 2018 recording over 785,000 aircraft movements, it shows a 1% decrease. Suggested reasons were currency changes, and a focus on sustainability and the environment. As a country that has an international vision through society it is an ideal breeding ground for Swedish aviation businesses, which is one reason why Sweden can offer the national and international market some great services and solutions.
Within Sweden there are over 50 IATA registered airports and a further 100+ other airports registered in the country – again delivering a solid aviation foundation base for the Swedish industry to develop.
“For ESP Sweden, an advantage of being a SAG member, in addition to the collaboration in market related activities such as seminars and exhibitions, is the exposure we get by being present on SAG’s website. We have received several quotation requests through the SAG website, some of which have resulted in good quality projects”
Leif Pettersson, General Manager, ESP Sweden
