Change in flight paths reduces 160 tons CO2 per year

In a significant move to reduce aviation’s environmental impact, LFV has introduced shorter departure routes for all propeller-driven aircraft at Göteborg Landvetter Airport. This change not only decreases the number of kilometres flown, thereby cutting emissions, but also reduces noise by spreading air traffic over more areas.

Hossein Ghate, Head of Air Traffic Management at Landvetter, emphasised that this initiative demonstrates LFV’s commitment to minimising aviation’s environmental footprint. The adjustment is expected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 160 tonnes annually, along with reductions in other harmful emissions.
