SAG Members Gather in Sundbyberg to Discuss the Future of Aviation

On September 25, 2018, Swedish Aviation Group (SAG) hosted an extended member meeting in Sundbyberg, kindly arranged by SiATM. The agenda focused on addressing the uncertainties currently facing the aviation industry and the wider global market.

The meeting began with a keynote presentation from Lena Sellgren, Chief Economist at Business Sweden. She outlined the current global economic climate, particularly the shifts resulting from the new U.S. administration. Her analysis highlighted the significant level of uncertainty for aviation and how it may affect the sector’s long-term growth and stability.

Following this, Fredrik Kämpfe from Transportföretagen addressed the technical challenges that aviation must navigate in the coming years. His presentation concentrated on the pressing demand for CO₂ reduction and the implications this will have for industry development, innovation, and regulation.

The key conclusion was clear: the aviation industry is entering a period of multiple and complex challenges, both economic and environmental, that will require strategic adaptation.

After the keynote presentations, SAG member companies shared their own future plans, many of which were directly shaped by the themes and insights raised during the discussions.
